Lifestyler - Article

Dekadenz Chocolate is the brainchild of Paul Jeffries and Tatiana White both of Pahi. Paul being a Builder by trade was able to have built a customised factory to suit the initial requirements of Tatiana’s chocolate making expertise. His strengths are in finance, and organising, but well below par in chocolate making.

Tatiana who is a local of Pahi and well known in the area for her Artwork, skills as a Chef, Rocky Road and truffle making and incredibly popular cake making skills. Having been taught the initial skills in her homeland of Russia, she further enhanced these skills in Auckland before moving to Pahi. Tired of Cooking for others and wanting a new lease on life, we decided over the usual glass of wine to create Dekadenz Chocolate. A new adventure was born now she is able to follow her passion of making exquisite chocolates.

Seeing a niche in the market for local high-end hand painted chocolates Paul set out to build a small chocolate factory and followed on with the required legal certificates re building and Health.Tatiana went to work on creating our signature line of exquisite handmade chocolates.Time was spent perfecting the recipies and the finalising of the Menu Coster breakdown of ingredients on the labelling.

Pahi and Paparoa are both growing communities with many local influences in the Arts and Crafts market. Paparoa has a successful Saturday Market and the Village itself is growing and catering for the influx of out of towners and the tourist trade. We felt that there was room for another local industry which we hope will grow in time. We currently supply several Corporates in Auckland.
